The Beez

The Beez

which is short for Beezus, which is short for Beatrice. The Beez was born February 28, 1982, and passed away on February 7, 2000. Until the very end, she always acted like a kitten. She was very friendly, and always greeted visitors at the door. She particularly liked fried chicken and black olives, refused to catch anything but crickets, and enjoyed playing "baseball" with her paws and chasing Fabian through the house. When she was not sitting on the cat warmer (a.k.a. the TV), she enjoyed watching old movies.

Fabian & crossword

Fabian

The gentle giant, bashful, clownish, and mischievous all at once. He has seen The Omen and has taken notes. He was born in early September 1996, and is a domestic tabby with significant Maine coon characteristics. He adored his older sister, and mooned after her as a lowly freshman does a prom queen. She, of course, used him like a punching bag. Name a people food that he doesn't want to get into. His favorite is fresh fruit: apples, strawberries, pears, grapes, peaches, nectarines, plums, watermelons, cantaloupes, raspberries, cranberries, blueberries, blackberries, cherries, apricots, bananas, kiwis, mangos, oranges, tangerines, grapefruits, lemons, and limes have all passed muster. No, he is not named for the pop singer, but for a character in this play.

Clarence

Clarence

Clarence joined us from the SPCA on June 15, 2000. He was born on December 22, 1999. As you might see from the pictures, his piercing brown eyes and tall ears make him look a bit extraterrestrial. He has turned the tables on Fabian, who now finds himself in the awkward position of having to be the alpha cat. Clarence's other name is Mook, and the phrase "mooking around" has come to mean someone (namely Clarence) is looking to get into trouble. His affectionate nature--what got him out of the SPCA--continues to be his #1 attribute. His namesake appears in this play.

Alice

Alice

Alice has to be pretty smart because after she had been injured as a kitten, she made her own way to an animal hospital in Augusta County and was discovered on their doorstep early one morning; they took her in and treated her, and we adopted her on December 1, 2003. At first she was skittish, but has finally come around. She throws herself into play and makes loud crying sounds when attacking her toys. And what an appetite.... Her namesake appears in this play.
